A Video for the Ojambo.com Gedit Advanced Editor Review article.
Part One of One
Gedit is the official text editor of the GNOME desktop environment. Basic editor features such as automatically indenting children are missing in Gedit. Important editor features such as tabs require plug-ins.
The video begins by setting up the theme and appearance of Gedit. Gedit can use the native system theme or use a custom dark or light theme and fonts can be changed.
The tutorial is broken up into four parts. The first part tests the drag and drop features of Gedit.
The second part tests editor features such as word count, word wrap and regular expressions. The third part testing programming features such as syntax highlighting and non-project files. The final part consists of testing improved workflow features such as file manager, terminal and distraction-free editing.
